Summit International at Spring Fair
This year, the UK’s largest and number one sourcing marketplace, Spring Fair, introduced the Power of One movement to the home and gift audience of the retail sector in an effort to encourage greater sustainable action, big and small across the industry.
The show ran from 3rd – 7th February 2019. Spring Fair’s Power of One wall was located in the Piazza entrance at the NEC Birmingham to attract the attention of exhibitors and visitors and encourage them to commit to one sustainable personal or business change, whether that was choosing sustainably sourced produce, avoiding single-use plastics or recycling used materials. You can read more about the campaign here.
Pledgers were encouraged to share their #PowerOfOne commitment on social media and were gifted one of 1,500 MyBento refillable drinks bottles, kindly donated by Summit International in support of the event.
Speaking about the donation, Richard Taylor, Sales Director at Summit International said: “We hope that our donation of 1,500 sustainable bottles help encourage visitors and exhibitors alike to think about their own approach towards single-use plastics. Just one MyBento bottle can prevent a further 150 single-use plastic bottles from needing to be disposed of.”
The MyBento collection offers a range of BPA-free glass and tritan plastic bottles to suit every lifestyle. Portable, eco-friendly and safe for re-use, the premium MyBento “Pure” glass bottle is made from high quality borosilicate glass that resists heat, harsh chemicals and corrosion. It can be filled with hot and cold drinks, offering a viable alternative to single-use plastic bottles.

In addition to reducing the use of single-use plastic bottles, for every MyBento “Pure” bottle sold in the UK, Summit donates 50p (or £1 for the premium bottle) to The Marine Conservation Society. The charity works tirelessly to protect our oceans, shores and wildlife from the terrifying influx of plastic and its harmful components.
